The building of a playroom

Well, we lasted about 8 months after our house renovation before the construction bug bit us again. This time, much simpler, but we're doing it ourselves. Yup, we're finishing our basement to make a playroom for Brady. We started with an empty room and have been working on it for a couple months on and off now. Not bad so far. We've installed studs, insulation, electricity, cable, data jacks, and phone, and this past week we worked on putting up blueboard. We're getting there!

I can't wait to watch Patriot games in my new playroom! Mom and Dad have been working really hard on it!

More shots?

Oh! I didn't see you there? What did you say?
I said, "Brady had his second health check this past week and got another clean bill of health. We are going to try to get him some Neocate formula (WICKED EXPENSIVE) with a bit of help from insurance hopefully to see if that helps his dry skin issue. Other than that, the little guy weighed in a 15 pounds 4 ounces and 26 inches, which puts him in the 55% and 80% ranges respectively."

Growing up

So in the past couple of weeks Brady has gotten used to his tummy time, sitting up in his chair, hangin' with chicks, and just yesterday he rolled over for the first time. So we decided it's now time for Brady to start moving forward from his liquid diet. Of course, this event must be captured on film, so here is how it all played out.

His very first mouthful of cereal (Apple Jacks)

Okay, so it's rice cereal, not Apple Jacks. This is when Brady started figuring this fact out as well.
Not sure I'm diggin' this new food
Wait,it's pretty good!
Yum!

Play time

Over the weekend, Brady had not one but two play dates. One with a new friend, Jacob, and one with a friend he's known before he was even born, Cleo. We were in the same birthing class as Cleo's parents. He really enjoyed it and had a lot of fun with them. He usually only gets to see people his size at daycare, so this past weekend was a treat.

Brady in Show Biz?

Which statement is the most correct?

1. Brady is planning trying out for role of Kenny in the musical rendition of South Park.

2. It was extremely cold here in Boston last week.

3. Irene overreacted to the first chilly fall mornings.

Lions and Tigers and Bears - Oh My!

Okay, there were no bears, at least from the pictures that came back. Sunday Irene took Brady to the zoo while I recovered from my trip to the UK. It was a beautiful fall like day and perfect for Brady's first trip to the zoo. As you can see, he was very excited and put on his new overall outfit for the occasion.

He's now strong enough so that he can face outwards on trips!

Off to the Franklin Park Zoo!

Paddington!

I finally finished up my work in the UK and arrived home Saturday night. I brought back a little Paddington Bear for Brady. When I first put it in front of him, he smiled and grabbed it. Looks like Paddington has a new friend in the US.

Their first meeting

Enough of Paddington for now....

...cuz today is the NFL Sunday Season Opening games!

Cheers!

Cheers from Chiswick, England!

I must say, the weather in England is highly underrated. It has been absolutely lovely since I arrived on Wednesday morning at half-seven. Oh, and I would be errant to not highlight how pleasant the trip over was. My first time on Virgin Atlantic and I had the privilege to fly upper class which was extraordinary. I never knew that I could get my own bed on a plane! The morning massage was quite exquisite as well, not to mention the beef wellington dinner which was absolutely smashing.

Unfortunately I have not had the chance to enjoy the nice weather as I've been working quite a bit. Also unfortunate is that I could not find any place where I could view the NFL season opening game on Thursday on the tele. You can imagine that all night I kept muttering to myself "ahh bullocks, how can I view this bloody game!"

I return to colonies tomorrow though, so my stay is coming to an end. I am looking forward though to seeing my little chap at home as I've missed him dearly.

Toodles.

With that said, I must get ready for bed as I have an early morning tomorrow.

How do you define Timing?

Timing, life is all about timing. In football, they talk about players getting their timing so they are in sync when playing at full speed. When you have an infant, it's about having the camera handy at the right times. Now, there have been plenty of times that we've missed good photo opportunities. But we are getting better. This weekend Brady played with his new toys given to him by his big buddy, Joey Florendo. He loves them too, so super thanks to Joey!
And by the way, if you're wondering how many blogs in row I can post with a football reference, it's a lot. :)

And learning to grab things (mostly that make noise)
His first succesful grab and hold, followed by a close investigation

Do you mind? I'm trying to do something here....

From there, Brady moved on his new exersaucer, which he's actually a bit too small for but he still has tons of fun in it.
Ummm, ahhhh, ummmmm....

Mom, ummmm, Mom..... Seriously, pay attention. We have an issue here....

I can't hold it much longer! Please please pay attention...

Which brings us back to timing. In this case, Irene does not have it because she's changing Brady during his bathroom break.

I, however, have great timing in this case. Like the National Inquirer, I jumped to a good location to grab these candid shots. This is where Irene reminded me that I don't work for the Inquirer, and should take fewer pictures and grab more wipes.
