Under Review

In the spirit of the NFL's new tradition of having THREE games on Thanksgiving Day, we wanted to announce that the Weekend TV Series blog entry is under review. The Chin parents are contesting the statement in the blog that Brady threw up multiple times due to excessive bouncey chair use.

After Brady's weekend episodes, it was believed that overactivity was the action causing the adverse reaction. However, the Wednesday morning before Thanksgiving, I was completely wiped out. I could barely move and was totally out of it with some sort of bug. I ended up not being able to go work. I wasn't even able to get out of bed most of the morning. I made it to the doctor, but was useless all day and slept probably 18 hours that day. Turkey Day I felt better and fortunately recovered enough to stomach some Turkey for dinner. Friday, I woke up feeling better and ready to try to get closer to finishing our basement playroom, but Irene now looked like I did on Wednesday. So she slept all Friday and laid low on Saturday too. Saturday night we finally were feeling better and started doing some finishing work in the basement. We only got a little painting done, which is disappointing, but when your body tells you to chill out, you have no choice but to listen. Oh yeah, an my mom also started feeling sick after Thanksgiving too.

-- After reviewing the data, the previous ruling in the Weekend TV Series blog is overturned. Over bouncing was not the issue. Brady had a little bug that upset his stomach.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

The ceiling is almost done!

Weekend TV Series

If life is a TV series, then the Weekend episodes could have been called Upheaval, Heave-Ho, Brady- The Baby Milk Fountain, or Giggles, Bounces & Milky Messes. You get the point.

After seeing Joey Florendo running all over the place at his first birthday party last week, Brady seemed inspired. So, Saturday morning we decided to try out Brady's bouncey seat that was given to him from Joey. It took a little while for him to get used to it, but once he did, he bounced and bounced and bounced. He loved it! He sat in it for almost two hours, bouncing and spinning and bouncing. Then, BLAAAAHHHH. His breakfast bottle was all over the place.

In our infinite wisdom, we took the bouncey seat over to my parents' house for them to see how much he enjoyed being in the seat. While they took care of him, he bounced and giggled and bounced and laughed and bounced. Then when my mom took him out, BLAAAHHHHHH.

Hmmm, seeing a trend, when we returned we decided to feed and then sit. 10 minutes later, BLAHHHH, all over me this time. This activity continued sporadically all through the weekend, which was surprising because Brady rarely, ahem, has returned his meals.

The funny thing is, he never really notices anything. He just keeps bouncing and laughing.

Initially, Brady thought the seat was to get a comfortable view of Mom exercising...

Jump Mom!

Squat Mom!
Be a bunny rabbit Mom!
Now I'll try

Leg workouts

The time has finally come for Brady to start using his legs for other purposes than to reel in his foot to chew on. So at home and in daycare he is on his own little excercise regiment containing a healthy dose of leg work. When we started two weeks ago, he would continuously pick up his legs whenever his feet got to the floor - kind of like Tom Cruise would when in mission impossible when he was hanging over the floor in the high security room. Eventually he would put his tippy toes down and now he's willing to actually try to balance.... a little. He's definitely a work in progress, but after watching Joey Florendo prance all over the house at his 1st birthday party, Brady is inspired it seems.

4 sets of 20 lap bounces to start the day...

Then into the exersaucer to work his core and self sufficiency.
"Hey Mom!"
"This isn't so bad Dad"
BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT PUTTING YOUR FEET DOWN!
Like I said, a work in progress

Speed Racer Chin

Tuesday Brady got his final fitting for his helmet. He is a left looker by nature, which has made the left side of his head a bit flatter than the other side of his head. Although he is borderline on actually needing a helmet, it may actually serve the dual purpose of not allowing him to scratch his head or face so much. This ultimately may actually help him break the itching habit!

Unfortunately the didn't have any Patriots helmets, or so Irene says. So I'll have to make my own. Until I can find some good Patriot logos for the side of his helmet, he'll be known as speed racer in our household.

Brady wonders why his helmet doesn't have a face mask on it

It's like Brady is stuck in a purple pumpkin
I prefer the name Crash

What happened??

Sunday the Patriots put together one of their worst efforts on the football field in the past four years. Even though we were at Joey's birthday party Brady and I were able to sneak in some time to watch.

As you can see from Brady's expression, he was less than impressed with his namesake's performance.

Dad was equally dismayed.

But Dad tried to teach Brady that you can always smile even when you are losing. Brady though could not be bothered as he was focused on breaking down the variation of the Jets' cover-2 defense.

Happy Birthday Joey!

Sunday we took Brady to Joey Florendo's 1st birthday party. Brady enjoyed himself a lot as there were plenty of little kids around, so it was like daycare for him. Plus, the Florendo's have many more toys than we do, which always helps. Joey also seemed to have a lot of fun, especially when he got his cake.

First, test the cake to make sure it's real....
Then take your spoon and play the cake like it's a drum. Up....
down....
and up again...
then proceed to eat with your fingers
This is good
Sammie had fun too

Halloween: Part III
